WELCOME TO

IOWA HOUSING PARTNERSHIP

The Iowa Housing Partnership (IHP) encourages policy and legislation at the local, state, and federal levels providing low- and moderate-income households with quality housing they can afford. IHP consists of public and private partners, now advocating together to address these long-standing issues in Iowa. Their mission also includes education for local governments and communities on the topic of affordable housing as well as sharing information on available funding tools. In their 2018 report, “Out of Reach Iowa,” IHP cited data from the National Low Income Housing Coalition to illustrate the state’s plight. The report stated 40% of all Iowa renters are housing-cost burdened. This is defined as paying more than 30% of income on rent. IHP believes having stakeholders working together to reach common goals will result in the improvement in the quality and availability of affordable housing in Iowa. IHP recognizes the urgency for solutions and is energized by their fast-growing membership.
